Nular

image.jpgPopulation: 4,850.
Power Structure: Town Council led by Prime Consul
Significant Feature: Otherworldly power generator made from an unknown ultraviolet hued metal.
Persons of Interest: Moser Kush, the Prime Consul; Kinnaman, the nano, Cosgill, the taverner, Old Megdra, the beggar, Geelam, the scout.
General Information: Nular stands at the very edge of the Steadfast, at the southernmost peaks of the Black Riage. Nestled up against the natural wall provided by Mnt. Nular, the town is built with a multi-story, rusting metal tower, a product of the previous worlds. Speculation as to what function this tower served during it’s heyday are varied, but the general consensus seems to be it was a mining facility of some sort; numerous unnaturally carved tunnels run beneath the structure, though any veins of precious metals have long been depleted.
The town is presided over by its founder, an ambitious but secretive former merchant named Moser Kush and a mercantile council. Benefitting from a road cut into the Black Riage itself and being the first viable center of civilisation on the frontier of the Steadfast, this lofty settlement enjoys infrequent but varied visitors (mostly adventurers journeying towards the Cold Desert).
Most in town would agree, the best establishment for a little r&r is the ‘One Too Many’, patroned by the brusque but affable Cosgill. Much alcohol-fuelled debate has been had over the true origin of the inn’s name.
Hearsay: Moser Kush is concerned about the increasingly frequent raids from the local margr tribes. Leaderless and without direction, they are significantly threatening trade in the region.
Old Megdra, the blind beggar-woman seeks her son, a pale wanderer who inhabits the mountains. No one believes her son is real, as it is thought the infant died in childbirth.
The Weird: Plasmars, mysterious energy emitting creatures that exists partially out of phase have been bound to the town’s defunct generator by Kinnaman the nano using cyphers generated from taxes to feed them. Moser Kush, has convinced the townsfolk that there is nothing wrong with the generator.
